It seems like I've always been a photographer, coming from a fine arts background. I loved to draw a lot as a child and drawing throughout my school years. I was a fine arts major in college, doing a lot of portrait work. My parents, being from the old country(Germany), were not keen on me being a commercial artist so I took up photography. I found I used the same "eye" for light, composition & color that I had developed in my artwork. I turned it into a wedding & portrait business for a few years but didn't care for the business side of professional photography. I guess I just wanted to shoot. Now, in retirement, I'm free to pursue my passion without worry about selling my work. My friends & relatives are the only ones who get prints made from my favorite captures. Christmas & Birthday presents are always photographs, framed or canvas prints and are always appreciated. I love photography! :)
