About me

My name is Maria and I am a Glasgow based photographer who, together with my boyfriend Grant (a member on this forum), work throughout the whole of Scotland and various places we visit.

I have been passionate about photography for many years before getting my own compact camera when I was around 15 years old. I remember borrowing my Father’s camera pretending to take photographs as I could not afford to buy film or develop the few photos I had taken. I take my camera everywhere as you can be sure there is always something worthy of a picture.

My passions in life, besides photography, have always been history, art, architecture, wildlife and nature and these are reflected in my photos.

I aim to achieve to keep my photographs as natural and realistic as possible and don’t use any software unless it’s necessary (e.g. for cropping, resizing etc.). I also enjoy to experiment with various techniques (e.g. infrared, various lenses and filters).
