Maybe I'll lay off posting any more until I've got some that I'm totally happy with and see what you think by then....could be a long wait though! I'm definitely my worst critic and usually just bin everything bar a couple of shots, which I then try to do PP on, fail miserably, and add them to the bin a few days later!
Actually Nicola that is a very healthy attitude in my opinion, well the bit about your own C&C. If you can already see the faults then you know others will spot them and the shots' not that good. It fits in with what I said earlier about good record shots, things that record the day but they aren't worth publishing. I have hundreds of 'em and also take lots of 'technical macro shots' or records of a situation that are fine technically but not of any artistic value.
There are many people who just don't have an eye for what's a good image outside of that. They may think many of their images are good and probably couldn't tell the difference between their own images and those of David Bailey or Ansel Adams. If you think you are getting one or two out of a days shoot that are pretty good and worth publicising then that is about the ratio I work on.
Personally I think you have the right idea but don't be too hard on yourself, you have professional quality equipment and just have to create the opportunity for pictures.
