No, I think that with these, and especially the soldier ones, it may well be intentional, and for me it does work.

Quite interesting then that when we put our pictures up they are seen differently by different people. My laptop is a HP Workstation with quite a lot of thought gone into the screen by HP as it is aimed at graphics and CAD workers. It has the latest driver. I know by Thinkpad laptop has a screen more designed for documents than pictures and I was having some trouble editing until I changed it. Interesting then that some people have issues and some not.

To some extent I think that photographers who produce work to be printed most of the time will be inclined to sharpen for print as their final action.
If they then decide to put the image on line they will reduce the DPI but may forget to reduce the sharpening and then the shot will go through the various processes before it appears on line.
Hence the shot that appears to be very over processed on screen may well be superb when printed and ok on the mother screen but total unable to deal with the various stages of processing that go on after you have finished it.

Laptops almost always have TN panels, and most consumer tft's do too. The colour gamuts are lower on those, and the panels are more of a 'film'. Basically you don't actually get to see all of the depth in a picture or accurately, and moving/viewing the screen at an angle will distort the colour too.

I don't think its as simple as that Azz - on the monitor I used today to see my images why would i be able to see other poster's images 'normally' yet mine looked incredibly over pp'd - which is definitely not the case.

Simply because you're editing yours on your monitor and they're not. Also I think it's fair to say you are more likely to PP yours more than most, hence more of a chance of this being highlighted (in relation to other people with TN panelled monitors not finding the same thing happening to their shots).

The third shot is nice, but like several others have said, the first two appear very heavily PP'd on my monitor.
