Re: Some ratty portraits

Ken, could you perhaps elaborate on why you prefer the 'looking out of the cage' style? It might be helpful for me in future! I always do the plain background for the website, so they're all uniform, but maybe I should start thinking about using some more informal shots for that as well

Love them Z. Wish I could train the Gerbil to pose like that

To my eye the rats have a more engaging look in their eyes, they seem to be looking directly at the camera. Where as the plain BG shots, the rats look a little insecure (back legs splayed), but this is not in all of the plain BG shots.

Re: Some ratty portraits

Thanks Ken! Certainly, some of them when we first start doing it are obviously less used to it than ones who've been doing it for longer, so they are a bit insecure at first, and although this also makes them quite alert looking at times, I can see why the cage shots might have more appeal.

Re: Some ratty portraits

All gorgeous. Switch looks the spit of my rex boy, Bilbo Baggins, I miss my rats
I like both styles, I agree it's good to have uniformed shots and they work really well, it is nice too to have the variety of having the more informal shots too, seeing them together and their personality, etc.
