Portrait orientation

I don't do it enough, but I actually am learning to like to portrait orientation of pictures instead of only landscape. Hope you like.

Something i too have to learn Melanie, especially trying to do portraits of dogs. I suppose its about getting into the habit of doing it. Maybe taking portrait photos with camera on the side so orientation is correct Did you do this with the image above or did you crop the image to give you the correct orientation?? I like the way you have set the image out Orientation and Composition good

I take loads of pics in portrait..gives you a whole different perspective.

This is a great shot in every way I think. But I don't like the mouth guard. It's a bit distracting for me.

Very nice shot good comp detail etc but the muzzle spoils what would be a cracking dog portrait..

Must admit i dont use portrait that much, its easy to get stuck in a rut and something i must think about trying more. I like the catchlight in the eyes.

I have just queried Lightroom and in 2011, 20% of my shots were taken in portrait orientation. On top of that I would add that quite a few shots taken in landscape orientation are cropped to portrait.
