What am I Doing Wrong! (Tree blurred)

I love taking close up/macro shots, but thought I'd try taking some distance shots, but they all turned out blurry, what am I doing wrong, please bear in mind I only have a point and shoot camera, this is by far the best I took.
Thank You. C.

Re: What am I Doing Wrong! (Tree blurred)

Try a faster shutter speed, or a tripod, or a fence post to rest the camera on, bear in mind, at long telephoto shots, the pic will be blurred if there's the slightest handshake.

Thanks nero, I'll give it a go, I did think I should take something to sit on, and a tripod, a bag to put all my bits in, a pack Mule and maybe a Sherpa guide

Or you could always sharpen it in photoshop
