Cost Effective Framing

One of the framing problems I face is the need to crop all my full frame 8"x12" photos down to 8"x10" frames. The cost of custom frames to fit the new digital photo full frame proportions is ridiculously high. I normally am forced to reprocess photos from my RAW files to allow me to crop to 8"x10".

There's a wonderful chain of stores here in the Pacific Northwest called IKEA. They are a European company that sells household items like bedroom, bathroom & living room furniture & accessories. They carry a huge selection of picture frames that sell for 1/4 the cost in any other store or online. They are top notch quality as well. http://www.ikea.com/us/en/

On my retirement income I can't afford to have larger prints custom matted & framed so getting 8"x10" glossy borderless prints made at Costco for $1.49 and buying IKEA frames that have mats cut to 7 1/2" x 9 1/2" is ideal. http://shop.costco.com/Photo-Center/Index Results below:

Re: Cost Effective Framing

Looks good Bob Target do some nice, not too expensive ones too

All my frames in the house are Ikea, I have the Ribba range, I used to buy them in the UK, so just carried on buying them when we moved here. I do tend to buy a lot in one go, as I dread the day they stop selling them
Mine are all black frames with white mats. I love the look of black frames and white mats.

I just checked & they are the exact same frames I bought yesterday. They basically are built to accept 8x10 photos, ie. 12 1/2 x 16 1/2 black, about $10 each or $13.50 total cost for a framed 8x10.
