Re: To The Core

I would have preferred the focus on the skin of the apple, as the colour and light looks really good. But overall a nice effect Dave.

Re: To The Core

When depth of focus is so shallow - I guess where you place it is very much in the eye of the beholder.

I'm not sure focus on the end of the stalk fits the title but I think it's made for the best shot.

Love the way the green works against the red.

Re: To The Core

It's very subjective I guess! I really can see the merits of both focusing on the stalk and on the apple. I think I personally would prefer the apple myself, but I personally think the stalk suits the title better because it leads you in to the core In any case, well done!

Re: To The Core

The in focus stalk works well although it might of been worth getting the apple a tad more in focus, only a tad mind you. Personal taste i guess. Other than that its good Dave

Thanks Ken. I think Owen done one not long ago with the skin in focus. I was just trying something different.

What title would you have used Phil? I was going at first along the lines of, Focus on the stalk.

As just said to Ken Z. Owen done one not long ago with the skin in focus. Very good it was too, that's what got me thinking about this one.

Cheers Mark. Very hard to get more of the background in focus when using that lens and a zoom lens.

Re: To The Core

That is the problem i had with using my sigma lens with the mac lenses Dave, creates such a shallow DOF, i tend to use the smaller lens now when using mac lenses
