Exposure Compensation

Exposure compensation may be needed when your main subject is darker/lighter than the background.

To obtain the desired results within this type of composition, it may be necissary to use a +/- EV value, to alter the exposure suggested by the camera.

As a general rule of thumb, +EV is usually needed when the foreground subject is darker than the background, and -EV is needed when it is darker.

Center weighted or spot metering is recommended when using exposure compensation.
