Mil photoshoot take 2
ok so somehow after fiddling with the camera i realyl messed up the light and the light in the room etc and her coat is not at all very good....
i edited slightly and it turned more red.... lol
currently shoved on facebook and i keep getting people saying - awww she sleeps? didnt realise she stopped bouncing for half a second
but for the general idea for the pic (not the quality..) opinions?
*i am not artisitc and trying really hard to be creative at the same time sticking to basics (camera).... but i get bored of samey picstures.... thank god im going on safari next week

Are you asking for critique on your composition? If so, here is what I think. I'm finding that the flower and the nose are fighting for attention. I'm not drawn into the image instead my eye is kind of bouncing back and forth.
Then there is the question of why a flower? I would understand a lead, a ball, a chewed slipper or something else doggy related -they could tell a story, but the bright flower seems to jar with the soft sleeping dog.
I actally think the position of the dog is lovely and without the flower it would have been a very pleasing image.
Its great that you are exploring and trying new things and I'm sure plenty of others will love it! Just my thoughts!

i know the quality is rubbish like i said - i messed up!!! i took 80 odd other images and almost cried when i finished
all part of learning!!!! s'what happens when i dont read the book flower, creative. why i dont know. i guess i just like flowers i think they are pretty and i think my dogs pretty so combined the two.....
i will try a tennis ball or lead like you said next time - thank you

im trying!! rather make mistakes now than a few montsh down the line when i should know better on the camera i used the wrong setting and the wrong something else - i wont pretend i know exactly what i did wrong but i wont be doing it again!!!
oh and i have white colour thing sorted!!! so tomorow mil better pose again as im trying that out and like littleme said a ball or something else
i have another for 'creativeness' again the quality is RUBBISH but! again just effects and poses!!
here ya go....
p.s i went to hobby craft for the flowers and inspiration.... any more ideas please inspire me!!! i loook at other peoples posts too but if you have a slightly off/norm idea am willing to give it a go lol!

Think your second shot is better than the first and as you are asking for help I offer my humble opinion.
A/ With this sort of shot always make sure you have the whole of the subject in shot – less space on the right and more on the left would improve the composition. Of course, if you are meaning to take just part of the subject that is fine, in this case we need the whole dog.
B/ concentrate on making sure the dogs eyes are in sharp focus is correct but in this case you need the whole dog in sharp focus. I have not looked to see what settings you were using but I think you need to increase the DOF for the best effect. Having sharp focus from flowers to the dogs tail would IMO be best but it is your shot and your have every right to think different if you wish.

i really naffed up the quality on my camera
i think ive had the cam about 2/3 weeks now and not actually used it much ive been snowed in lol so realised the other day how to do that(white background) so just experimentingim going to do more tomorow, same kind of effect (boring i guess) but! need to practise till its perfected!

Try taking the same photo with a different background/surround. You will always be struggling with white as the camera is trying to compensate between light and dark.
A more overall colour "temperature" works better as the whites are blown out, but use other colours that don't hide the outline of the dog. Try a blue background with the dog on a green rug, may work better but I don't know
Don't be afraid of converting to B/W, it can often save a picture. Quick example but can be edited better

I don't agree that the whole dog needs to be in the frame for it to be good composition - just avoid little chops - like just the end of a tail or a paw getting lopped off.
With your second shot, the flower feels too close to the bottom for my liking. I think they need a little more room underneath them.
Keep up the good work though - all this experimenting is how you'll make progress.
