Might be more a case of where to focus rather than depth of field.

If it was the left (nearest) toby jug you wanted sharp then providing you aren't shooting in 'auto' - either select the left focus point or (if auto) compose the shot first by pressing half way then (keeping it held) move the camera to frame the shot and press fully to take the pic.

Focus is something I struggle with, but it is really worth taking time to really think carefully about how you are focusing and which part of the image you want sharpest.

did you use flash with these?
