South Parade Pier Southsea

Hello all,

I went out today, was a bit cold though, only stayed out for half an hour but did take a photo of South Parade Pier, which for some reason I really like (the pier I mean) and have many fond memories of it from my childhood/teens.

I like that, works well

Has the pic been treated in anyway? Looks kindof HDR then mono'd

It's mostly been editied to bring out the Sky, the pier and beach have not had much editing at all.

It's had some noise added for effect

You can see how cold it is, very dramatic sky, and like the fact you have the foreground leading you in. Like the composition

That is broody and sinister looking. It appears the pier is in for a rough night/

When I first viewed it I thought the two bright patches toward the top of the image would draw my eye out of the image. However it doesn't and in fact they almost illuminates the rest of the image, I think that is because there is another light area along the surf line that balances it out.

It was cold too. I guess the pier has put up with a lot of bad weather over the last 130 years

I hope it doesn't suffer the same fate as some of the other piers along the south coast.
