Re: Careful landing

That's a lovely grab of the bird bazza - the only thing I'm not keen on is the bird feeder. (although if it were a shot for a bird feeder mag they may well want to use it!).

Wonder, is it possible to get much thinner (but longer) birderfeedrs? That perhaps stick in the ground all the up high (so they are stable)? I think that might be a good compromise

Azz

This was the best out of about 40 photos taken. I had the wireless remote on the camera with the Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 lens. It is about the only way to get a reasonable close up shot without editing.

Re: Careful landing

Are there any 'thin' feeders available? If not it could be a good business venture as I bet lots of people who like taking shots of birds would consider one

How about those tall bird baths? They're usually quite pretty themselves so might help with the overall picture? I would just make sure they are tall enough so the cats don't get it easy!

Re: Careful landing

Harder to find than a slim bird feeder is a slim bird in a bath.

Re: Careful landing

Great capture, whether on a feeder or not it's seriously hard to get a good shot of a small bird in flight, let alone with full wing span and sharp.

Great work Bazza

Re: Careful landing

Thank you Stan. I was rather pleased with this photo, ok it is nowhere near as good as all the other photos posted on the boards, but I will get there one day
