Re: Candid

I'll be honest and say that this doesn't do anything for me - there are no connections and no story. I think it would have been much stronger if you caught a moment between them - like a shared laugh, or talking to the baby.

Re: Candid

. . . . . . or It could say everything about the couple? I think candid shots like this are just as important to document as happy couples! but that’s just my opinion, I like to see shots like this as part of a series. maybe stake out the bench? get different people on different days on the same bench? just an idea! also I think a black and white conversion would fit the sombre mood a little better? again just my opinion!

Re: Candid

....... here it is then in B & W.

I like the idea of going back to the bench to see who else is using it. It would almost certainly be someone with a bag of bread to feed to the ducks.

Re: Candid

I agree with both Little Me and Finbar. On it's own there is a lack of a focal point, nothing particular draws the eye, however, as one of a series of bench occupiers then it would work better. I really like taking candid shots or street photography, but a single shot really needs a little something to make it interesting, they don't even need to be technically perfect.

Just my view.
