Early Morning Sun

Surprise! No sun in these photos except for that lighting seen on the huge rocks on Canon Beach. I got lucky today because it was a very low tide so I could capture the breaking waves in front of the cave on Haystack Rock. I love what the water does to the sand approaching Haystack. I blipped out a few tourists with CS5 and content aware editing. Takes three seconds per person. Bye Bye!

Check them now Phil. I think I got them straightened out. Thanks for the tip.

Re: Early Morning Sun

Excellent Bob... could you show us either in this thread or another one unedited picture and one with the content aware editing doing it's job on it's own. I seem to recall someone posting a picture of grass, but would like to see it on people.

Must be great just shooting off somewhere everyday...and to have a coast within easy travelling distance, fantastic!

I have learned some interesting things about content aware editing. I've erased the before version of this photo where Phil pointed out the problem with the horizon not being level. The hoops I had to jump through to level it involved a lot of editing caused mostly from having a black 4 px stroke around the outer edge of my photos. In order to Transform the image, rotate it to level, then rebuild the edge takes time. Maybe I can set up a scenerio in a future shot where I can post a demonstration.

I dearly love the content aware fill feature. It certainly has its limitations on large area editing. Removing people out of a beach photo is a piece of cake, taking a few seconds. If you have a frame of a group of people and one person is only half in the frame editing him/her out doesn't work well with content aware fill. It's too large an area. I'm referring to close ups where the people occupy more of the image.
