Re: Portrait of my daughter

Oh wow! I love it, love the idea and the photography. I might be tempted to try and clone or crop the pink thing in the left top corner, stuffed toy?

But, I love it, the whites aren't blown, and the skin has lovely tones, has a lovely ethereal feeling to it. Gorgeous model too xxx

Re: Portrait of my daughter

Thanks moonstone.....funny I noticed the soft toy when I loaded it on here, but missed it on the original image. I corrected and changed it on here too.

Re: Portrait of my daughter

Like it

If you're serious about it for an album cover I would revisit it, and try a few variations, like a white sheet behind the bed frame. Or a white sheet in front. I would also like to see some dramatic lighting, maybe darker (think it would work well). Give it a try and keep on taking shots until you think it's 'perfect'... it has to be for an album cover.

Also why is the violin facing downwards? Not sure if it's just me, but it sortof makes it a little rude that way?

Re: Portrait of my daughter

Some interesting suggestions, but I think it's a fantastic image! I love it! Would like to see the violin facing up, and sideways on though

Well done, excellent work!

Re: Portrait of my daughter

I agree this is a great starting point. Well done.
What a gorgeous daughter you have!
I am finding the headboard a little distracting, but I think something needs to be there - maybe a different crop would help.

P.S. Why is the violin facing down?

Re: Portrait of my daughter

Enjoying your comments on what you all feel on the image.
I do find myself studying images of violinists in media a lot and was trying in this case to change the 'stereotyping' role of the violin in my image.
If I were to do this exercise again I would perhaps have studied the results more closely and made adjustments on set to adapt or correct what I saw.

Re: Portrait of my daughter

I agree with everyone else! what a great starting point! I love the overall feel of the picture but as little me pointed out the head of the bed is a little distracting!
did you take a series of shots? different angles? different poses? have you tried putting textures over the image? maybe a mono conversion and darken it? that would give it more mood I think! but I love the idea. and once again good idea and good starting point! oh and a very lovely model too! lol Daughters come in handy!
