Very good point about the black of the eyes Phil! I'd not have thought of it at the time of writing my little post - but I think it would make the picture so much more punchy!

Cheers folks. Thats the point about the flash, there wasnt one, it was the sun. I like the tones in the shot, the sun was strong but manageable for the most part, however shots of this cat in the shade were not as striking and a lot of the facial features were lost. I expect his pupils were like microscopic dots
