Blackbird

Further to my post 'Robin' a couple of days back, here is the blackbird from the same shoot.

This is a much nicer image overall than your Robin picture. You have included the whole bird in a very characteristic pose. The only way I'd slightly improve this image is just to lift the catchlight in the eye slightly.

This guy lives in our garden, he is there every day, most of the day, feeding on apple, cheese, worms and sometimes comes with his 'wife' and I think a younger bird, have a pic somewhgere. His nest is at the top of the garden and he is getting more and more confident and comfortable with us. Makes me scared though, had a cat hiding in the bushes a couple of times and he has been oblivious...

Yes, I did try and lift the bird from the background a little and vignetted the edge of the frame.

Nice shot BC, the black bird I have but not yet managed to get a shot of, I like this one and understand why you have given your bird a soft spot light as you need to lift it from the background. Have found that birds have a habit of standing in or against something that does a good job of making them invisible.
