Dennis

I'm starting to get a little tired of shooting snowboarding after a long season now, so I'm trying to get better at portraits. I'm at my friend Dennis' place for a few days just chilling out, and we had a little shoot in his backyard.

I really want to start getting in to shooting bands and artists and stuff like that, so I guess I’m trying to find my style for that kind of shoots here.

Nikon D700 with Sigma 24-70 f/2.8

Elinchrom Ranger behind Dennis to my right, and sun to the left.

I recommend viewing this one large

Re: Dennis

I far prefer this one! I love the colour again, and the trees actualyl work for me, to accentuate the figure, rather than distract. I find it generally a very pleasing image, though I would probably go for a fractionally narrower crop

Nice to see you shooting in daylight Tommy

Nice work - I like the style too, keep it up I think you'll be just as good at these as you are the snowboarding shots!

Re: Dennis

Thanks Azz. The only thing is that I think there's might be a little to much contrast here.

I'm by far no professional, though that is my aim. But, a lot of commercial photography has a lot of contrast. I actually like it like that.

Re: Dennis

Love the blues in this shot, they really make the image pop. I like the high contrast it works really well with this type of shot. Great work Tommy xx
