River Carron, from Sea to Source
After the posts on Carron Iron works yesterday, I decided to follow the river to it's source.
This is at Carron works, it's brackish at high tide.
100 yards upstream.
Two miles further upstream.
Three miles upstream.
Seven miles upstream.
The source, Carron Dam.
Great for trout.
The hotel below the dam, i've staggered out of there on a few occasions after a days fishing.
The river supplied all the water for Carron works, the dam however, supplies drinking water for most of central Stirlingshire.
