Re: Loki (Utonagan) in the snow

Good composition on all of the shots, although the ones with the objects work better for me as there is a focus for the gaze.

They all look blue and cold to me, one of the perils of snow tricking the meter. I've found that sometimes using one of the warming filters in the 'shop can take the edge off the blue. I'm sure there are other techniques to remove the blue cast as well.

1 and 2 for me are really really nice. well composed and set out, interesting and thoughful images. I agree about the blue cast, it spoils it a bit for me Grant. Pin sharp as always.

Re: Loki (Utonagan) in the snow

Some lovely shots there DJ, great composition in each - and Lokis looking great as usual!

Interesting with that blue tint, wonder why that is? (as the White on Loki seems fine)

Dunno, you'd expect it later in the day perhaps?

Re: Loki (Utonagan) in the snow

It the meter playing up with all the white, the white balance can be thrown off by it too.

Re: Loki (Utonagan) in the snow

Great shot's DJ.

Nice to see Loki looking fit and healthy. Hope she's 'fit free' just now.

You've got the dog nice and sharp. I like the first four shots where there's no trees poking up behind. That said the pose in the last one is very striking.

Did you manually set your white balance from the snow ?

Is the first shot a faster shutter speed ?

Although my exif data suggests I manually set my whie balance, I did not. I think I just left it on sunny or daylight as I usually adjust in DPP anyway.Which ever setting I had matched pretty well what was being recorded, or, so it seemed as I did not alter it when pp'n
