Hello from way down south.....
Hi everyone, hope you are all well!
Sorry I have not been on much recently - been traveling! I have now made it as far as Ushuaia - apparently the sothern-most city in the world.
It's cold, windy, wet and very beautiful.
Anyway, here are a couple of shots from Argentina....
Long drop to no-where
Perito Moreno Glacier, El Calafate, Patagonia.
The glacier is huge wall of ice advancing into Lago Argentina. As quickly as it advances it breaks down, collapsing into the lake and melting. The noise is incredible, it cracks, groans, rumbles and roars continuously.
The birdlife is amazing, this was taken yesterday during an incredible hike in the Tierro del Fuego National Park, a fantastic landscape of mountains, rivers and islands, all covered in forest that would have been very at home in the Lord of the Rings! The bird is the Black-faced Ibis, the Andes form the backdrop.
I get on a boat for the Antarctic tomorrow, so not sure when I will be in touch again - but keep well!

Wow it looks awesome - love that last photo, what an unusual bird too. 1st shot is great too - and that guys brave for going so close to the edge
