Re: Looking to upgrade from Nikon D40

What is your budget Hayley?

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the new models tbh - they are much more advanced than the D40 thesedays

What about a 5300?

This will give you a rough idea on nikon camera prices, but doing a net search could well find them a bit cheaper.
Think about if you want to go full frame or stay with an aps-c sensor.

Budget I think no more than £1000 realistically any more. Than that and I won't want to take it out of the house !!

Re: Looking to upgrade from Nikon D40

The Nikon D7100 gets cracking reviews but I think its burst shooting speed isn't as good as some other models.

This site is worth looking at for details and reviews, but not necessarily to purchase from.

For an idea of the best prices the link Bazza gave you is good.

Re: Looking to upgrade from Nikon D40

Pity you can't stretch the extra £300 or so and go for the Nikon D610

Re: Looking to upgrade from Nikon D40

I would say the D7100 or D610 too - both awesome cameras.

This might help:

Kit 1
Nikon D300
Nikon 55-200mm VR
Kit 2
Nikon D40
Nikon 18-55mm
My Compact/P&S: Panasonic Lumix TZ7

Re: Looking to upgrade from Nikon D40

Good video clip Azz. Given what I have read from top reviewers, the video confirms which one I would choose.

Re: Looking to upgrade from Nikon D40

I do really value the burst mode when photographing dog agility it's particularly useful ... Will have to see if I can go up for the )610 but that may have to wait a little longer :-/

Re: Looking to upgrade from Nikon D40

FPS seems to be same on D610 and D7100, at 6FPS.
