Nikon SB600/900 comparison

First thing noticable is the size difference



Not had much chance the play with it yet but the control are a lot easier to use but more settings available. So here is a quick difference in illumination with both speedlights set the same.



One should be able to see the difference in the two. Where I feel it comes into its own (SB900) is in those dull overcast days which we get a lot of. Another thing I have noticed is the repeat flash, it actually keeps up with the camera, no delay in continuous shooting

i used a (borrowed) SB900 on a recent shoot at Manchester Velodrome. it put my crappy Jessops flash to shame lol. its on my wishlist but i think ill be waiting for a lottery win before i get one!

Taken tonight pitch black and totally unedited 30 ft away not on full power or spot flash, ignore focus as this either isn't relevent its the light power that is

I own the SB600 and use flash so sparingly I couldn't justify the additional cost of an SB900. My real love for Nikon speed lites is the off camera use triggered by the on camera built-in flash of my D90. Commander Mode is a wonderful thing.
